The Center for Law, Energy and the Environment (CLEE) has issued a scoping report on fire recovery after the Los Angeles fires. To speed rebuilding, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass issued an executive order temporarily relaxing the "all-electric" building code regulation. The CLEE report investigates the cost and speed implications of rebuilding "all electric." The study concludes that "The goals of providing affordable and swift rebuilding and recovery options to wildfire-impacted communities can effectively be achieved through an all-electric rebuild while also supporting public safety and the state’s sustainability goals."
