Adda Athanasopoulos-Zekkos is an Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UC Berkeley. Her research focuses on assessing and mitigating the impact of multi-hazard stressors on geotechnical engineering infrastructure. Her research addresses infrastructure challenges, including age-related deterioration, population growth and densification, natural and manmade hazards, and evolving demands from climate change. She received the prestigious National Science Foundation award and the Thomas Middlebrooks Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
Stephen Collier
Stephen Collier is Professor of City & Regional Planning at UC Berkeley. Marta Gonzalez
Marta Gonzalez is Associate Professor of City & Regional Planning at UC Berkeley. Her research investigates spatial analysis, with a focus on the intersections between people, their social networks and the built environment. She utilizes a complex systems approach and statistical physics methods, empowered by AI, to understand macroscopic phenomena in terms of the microscopic dynamics of various systems.
Peter Martelli
Peter Martelli is Associate Professor of Healthcare Administration at Suffolk University. His research focuses on organizational errors and the interdisciplinary application of models, such as High Reliability Organizing (HRO), to promote system safety and reliability. He has worked on various aspects of these issues both in healthcare settings and in other industries, including wildland fire and emergency response, oil exploration, and civil and industrial infrastructure.
Anna Serra-Llobet
Dr. Anna Serra-Llobet is an environmental scientist affiliated with CCRM. Her research concerns flood risk management and the interface between natural and social processes. Her research focuses on flood risk management policies, environmental planning, floods after fire, the residual risk of extreme floods, and nature-based solutions for flood risk management.
